New 2011 iPhone 4 S
Officially Revealed
The Apple keynote media event today (04/10/11) announced a couple of new things including the new Ipod Nano available in 7 colours with watch straps with 16 new clock faces so you can wear it as a watch.. why not.
They also announced new iPod touch with new prices. 8GB at $199 32GB at $299 and 64GB at $399
ios5 is also Launching on oct 12
After quite some time they finally intoduced the new iPhone 4 S but no iPhone 5 nothing mind blowing beacuse most things were already known and leaked.
So whats it got?
A5 Dual Core Processor which has got around 2x faster CPU
Dual Core Graphics which has got around 7x faster graphics.
New 8 mega pixel camera 3264 x 2448 with 60% more pixels with a CMOS backside illuminated sensor — gets 73% more light than the iPhone 4 sensor, and 1/3rd faster. On top of that, they placed a high-end IR filter for greater accuracy and uniformity.
The camera has face detection and and auto-white balance and also takes pictures much faster needing only 1.1 seconds before being ready to take the first shot and only half a second between successive images.
We also have 1080p video recording. 1080p, real-time video image stabilization and real-time temporal noise reduction.
Next they talked about th new voice recognision feature. Siri: the intelligent assistant to get things done just by asking. Just hold down the home button and Siri will listen in. For example:
"What is the weather like today?" Siri responds: "Here is the forecast for today."
Scott's asking Siri all kinds of stuff. Find me a great Greek restaurant in Palo Alto. "I've found five Greek restaurants, and I've sorted them by rating."
Other new cool stuff include cloud services and Airplay.
AirPlay Mirroring is now happening, meaning you can get your gaming on the big(ger) screen.
As far as battery life, you're looking at eight hours of talk over 3G, and 14 hours of 2G, while web browsing over 3G cuts off at six hours. Using WiFi you'll get a respectable nine hours of web, video playback tops out at 10 hours and music at 40 hours.
The iPhone 4S is not the only phone in our lineup. The iPhone 4 will now be available in Black and white for just $99. The phone 3GS in 8GB: free.
